Dhoni-Team India's Captain

APART FROM STUDIES DHONI IS DOING A FILM WITH HIS FRIEND JOHN ABRAHAM.

Seems to be funny. Isn't it? But this is true. Indian Cricket Team Caption Mahendra Singh Dhoni is now making news sensational with regard to his academic arena. Building on his reputation as a ‘finisher’ in ODIs, India’s cricket captain is attending to some unfinished business—a Graduation Degree.

Normally so many rumors and gossips used to arouse in the life of celebrities. But Dhoni’s move to urge Graduation is already confirmed by St Xavier’s College Principal Nicholas Tete. He said that Dhoni is seeking admission in the institute through the sports quota. It is in this connection that he met Ranchi University Sports Director Jai Kumar Sinha.

Dhoni has expressed a wish to pursue B Com from the college. But he’ll have problems attending classes both owing to his cricket engagements as well as his star status. We’ll need to complete other formalities including the University’s permission,

The principal’s fears don’t appear unfounded as the local hero, chief guest at the finals of the Inter-Class Canvass Ball Cricket Tournament in the college, created a mini-stampede when hundreds of students surrounded him in the Campus

A Commerce Degree may help him manage the millions he will make from the IPL. And, perhaps, decipher the number of zeroes in the next cheque which comes his way, till the euphoria of India’s victory over Australia lasts. A bachelor’s degree may also make the heartthrob of millions the most eligible bachelor among the Men in Blue. He has enrolled for Office Management and Secretarial Practices on 6th September.

The news is that John Abraham and Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni are going to act in a film titled ‘Hook Ya Crook’. The film is inspired from the 1981 Hollywood film, ‘Escape to Victory’, which featured football star Pele. UTV, who had earlier made Goal, a football-based film, want Hook Ya Crook to be an authentic cricket film. The climax will be a huge cricket match like Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan. Indian cricket captain Dhoni is being brought on board to share the field and cinema space with the rest of the cast and also to help his teammates give a believable spin to the game.

Indian wicketkeeper/ batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni has already walked the ramp and appeared in big brand advertisements with big stars like shahrukh khan. Now Dhoni is all set to act in a music video. He is in fact playing himself in the album cut by model and singer Rani, who also happens to be Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari's wife.Rani calls Dhoni's appearance in the album a brotherly favour."He is like my brother. Actually my brother Arun Pandey and Dhoni are friends," Rani says about Dhoni's appearance in the album. Taking a break from net practice before the South Africa tour, Dhoni's in Mumbai only for a day to shoot for the music video. Yet, for a cricketing superstar, the choice to make a debut in a music album is a little strange to say the least.

ODI CARRER:-

Dhoni making a mark in the India-A squad, he was picked in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour in 2004/05. Dhoni did not have a great start to his ODI career, getting run out for a duck on debut. In spite of an average series against Bangladesh, Dhoni was picked for the Pakistan ODI series. In the second match of the sereis, Dhoni in his fifth one-day international scored 148 in Vishakapatnam off only 123 deliveries. Dhoni's 148 erased the earlier record for the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper a record that he would re-write before the end of the year.

Dhoni was nominated as the vice-captain of the ODI team for the series against South Africa in Ireland and the subsequent India-England 7-match ODI series.  Dhoni, who received a 'B' grade contract in December 2005, was awarded an 'A' grade contract in June 2007. And also he was elected as captain of Indian Twenty-20 Cricket Team for the World Twenty20 in September 2007. On 2 September 2007 Mahendra Singh Dhoni equalled his idol Adam Gilchrist's international record for the most dismissals in an innings in ODI by catching 5 English players and stumping one.   He led India to the ICC World Twenty 20 trophy in South Africa with a victory over arch rivals Pakistan in an intensely fought final on 24 September 2007, and became the second Indian captain to have won a World cup in any form of cricket, after Kapil Dev.

India toured Pakistan in January/February 2006 and Dhoni scored his maiden century in the second Test at Faisalabad. India was left in a tight spot as Dhoni was joined by Irfan Pathan with the team still 107 away from avoiding follow-on. Dhoni played his typical aggressive innings as he scored his maiden test century in just 93 balls after scoring his first fifty in just 34 deliveries. He has been a standing captain of the 3 test series. But he has been a regular test captain from the test series against England from 11th December, 2008. And he won the entire 3 test in which he has been a standing captain.

IPL:-
M.S.Dhoni was contracted by the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 Million USD. This made him the most expensive player in the IPL Auctions which was closely followed by Andrew Symonds. Dhoni is the present captain of the Chennai Super Kings team. Under his captaincy Chennai super kings cleared semifinal and went till the finals of the “Billion Dollar Baby” IPL.

HE REMAINS IN THE NEWS:-

He always remains in the news following the affairs with some or the other heroines. Koena mitra, deepika padukone, and recently with laxmi rai south Indian heroine from Chennai.

CRAZY FOR BIKES:-

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is passionate about bikes. He bought the Harley-Davidson soon after the World Twenty20 triumph. He has 10 bikes with him. He likes to ride bikes whenever he is free; it doesn’t matter to him whether he is in Ranchi or any where else in the country. He also has the hayabusa bike gifted to him by his good friend John Abraham. He also rides the bike in the ground itself after any one from his team wins the bike after the match.

HE IS ICON:-

He celebrates his winning against Australia by ordering his first designer watch. It was a diamond studded Rolex that cost as much as some cricketers did at the Indian Premier League. And when he bought it, it made him think, “I made it!”

What catches Dhoni’s fancy are audacity, unorthodoxy, and character. The flamboyance comes from the accessories: funky belts, ankle high suede boots, and leather jackets. Even his self-designed wicket keeping gloves make a statement.

His greatest indulgence: His boots. It is reported that he recently splurged on nine pairs of boots, especially handcrafted for him from RM Williams, a premium footwear brand. The two rather unusual accessories that seem to have caught the public’s fancy: his hair and his motorcycles. “I love speed, but I am not rash!” declares the 27-year-old captain.

And in his list of must have is a private jet. “I still don’t think I can afford that!” I may have raced my Ducati against a fighter plane, Building a mansion in Ranchi, but I have yet many milestones to cover like winning a 50 over World Cup and flying a plane. He is always experimenting with his hairdos.  During his early days, when he was playing first class cricket, Dhoni sported shoulder-length hair. Whenever he walked out to bat a few in the fielding side would scream ‘LO TARZEN AA GAYA’. There is a misconception that Dhoni drinks a lot of milk. In fact he likes flavored milk.
LUCKY 7:-He considers 7 as his lucky number. He was born on 7/7/1981. He has no.7 on his t-shirt, when he made debut his sister gifted him a diamond locket with no.7, his house no. is 25 i.e., 7, his new house is also having no.7, whereas his cars and bikes too have no.7.
ANIMAL LOVER: - Dhoni loves dog very much. He is always in company with his dogs whenever he is in Ranchi. He h as more than 3 dogs with him.
PAST TIME: - He loves the hind songs very much especially of Kishore kumar and lata mangeshkar. On his tour he usually hooked on his lap top playing games on it.During his free time. Play station 1, 2, 3 are his favorites.
ICE-COOL PERSONALITY: - He was relaxed the morning after India won the T-20 World cup.”Sab kuch normal rakhne ka.” He told this scribe as the breakfast table.

DEMANDED SECURITY:-

He demanded ‘Z’ category security from the Jharkhand Government after the Mumbai bomb blast. Before that he has a security with him. Once an over-enthusiastic woman caused a flutter by managing to hug Mahendra Singh Dhoni while the Indian cricket team was boarding a bus back to the hotel after the conclusion of a conditioning camp for Bangladesh tour. Seen all this Jharkhand govt. has provided him the security. He has security all over with him. He also got lady guards with him to keep away the lady fans of him.

He has also asked for the 9mm pistol for his own security. He loves shooting and it was proved when he was seen shooting during the Pakistan tour last year. He also believes in god and we can see that from the pooja he does whenever he is in Ranchi.

HIS ACHIEVEMENTS:-
He awarded with “KHEL RATNA” in the present year and ODI player of the year.

Dhoni a big name today. He always keeps his mind cool while playing and tells the same to the players of his team. “We may not win every game, but as long as the efforts is there, and as long as the dressing room atmosphere is good, it makes your job easy and worthwhile” he says.

Television in India

Check out this SlideShare Presentation:

Iss “WADA” se mujhe Bacchao

After 46 months of continuous cricket and media attention, team India will have 43 days free to enjoy. Till September there is no cricket for Team India. The cricketers will be away from the cricket. They can enjoy their private life during this free time. But, this will remain a dream for them as they will not be able to enjoy their privacy.

Players are asked to make their 3 months schedule in advance. The players will have to tell WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) their schedule from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. for all the 7 days of the week for 3 months in advance. They will have to remain drug free for all the 365 days in the year. They will have to be ready for the test any time 365 days whenever they are asked to give the test. If the players miss the 3 tests then they will be treated guilty under the WADA Act.
They will also have to keep 1 hour free for the Dope test. For this they can fill online form or can mail their schedule to WADA directly. This new rule came from January, 2009. The earlier rule was little liberal having the time limit from 5 A.M. to 11 P.M. for only 5 days a week. They had to be prepared for only 3 times for the test. But now the rules have changed and the players will have to work according to the rule made by WADA.
The players of team India is not in favour of leaving their privacy and thus they have written a letter to the BCCI about this. Harbhajan, Yuvraj, and Sehwag have written the letter to BCCI. They are against the rules of the WADA. BCCI has joined the WADA rule before 3 years and now the players will have to follow the rule made by WADA as BCCI come under WADA.
The cricketers will have to follow the rule as they cannot break the chain and rule according to their wish. Cricketers come under BCCI, BCCI comes under ICC and ICC comes under the rule of WADA, so players are under the rules and they have to follow the rules.
The WADA works for all the sports all over the world. The Indian cricketers are the not only players who are against the rule, but there are other players from other sports who are of same opinion. Rafel Nadal, the tennis player had told ITF (International Tennis Federation) about this. Lolo Jones, American athletic has also shown her disagreement against WADA rule.

Mongoose Bat: New invention in T20 cricket

T20 form of cricket is a new form of cricket. It has changed the definition of the cricket and after the IPL and T20 World Cup its popularity has climbed many mountains. There are different shots and rules which has been included in the game to make it more interesting for the viewers. There is another big change in the game after permitting the Mongoose Bat and the Double side bat in the T20 format.
We all have seen the original cricket bat having the size of 38 inch long and its breath of appro 4-4.25 inch. The original bat was first used in the year 1624. It is about 385 years old. But it will be replaced by the Mongoose Bat and double side bat soon in T20 format. The original will be in the ODIs and the Test matches. These bats are long and the grip is short.
Mongoose Bats are boon to the batsman and curse to the ballers as the players can easily throw the ball to the boundary, can make it a six and can easily play the reverse sweep shot. The length of the grip and the handle is more then the original bat. The grip and the handle is double in the size as well as the blade is double in size. It is around 5 cm in thickness. The grip is made around 43% long then the original cricket bat.
It can be easy for the batsman to play the York length ball and can convert that into 4 or 6. It can make the big strokes very easy. Sweep area is made stronger so that a batsman can hit the ball very hard. There are some drawbacks as well like the splice/shoulder is made short. Because of this the batsman cannot defend easily, so it becomes compulsory for the batsman to come forward for the defence.
The double side bat can be used to play shots from both the sides of the bat easily. It is straight from both the sides which help to play from both sides. Reverse sweep shots can be easily played in less time. With the original bat the batsman has to curve his wrist and hit the ball for the reverse sweep, but with the double side bat he can hit the ball without curving the wrist which saves around 2-3 seconds.
Both the bats have been used in the game earlier. Stuart Law from Australia has already played with the Mongoose in a match. David Warner from Australia has played with the double side bat for South Australia against New South Wales. With the changes in the format there are changes which happen in the tools of the game. ICC is thinking of changing the colour of the ball for the Test match which can be reduced from 5 days match to 4 days day-night Test match. Besides this the Australian and the New Zealand Wicket-Keepers were seen wearing a new type of helmet which can protect their head and the face.

Cricket: Money making machine?

Cricket is regarded as the second most popular game. Cricket in India is not less than the temple that we go and worship. Cricketers are not less than the God we worship. Cricket is not the national game of our country India. But, then also the game is growing up in terms of getting the popularity from the people. Starting the IPL in the country took a new step in the world of cricket and the popularity raised more due to it.
History of cricket:
Cricket is a game which is played with the bat and ball. There are 2 teams having 11 players each. Cricket was first played in Southern England in the 16th Century. It became the national game of England in 18th century. The first international cricket tournament was in the mid 19th century. Today there are nearly 104 member countries of ICC (International Cricket Council). BCCI (Board of cricket control for India) is one of the members of the ICC. There are 3 main types in cricket. Test cricket, One Day Games (limited over game) and T20.
Formats of cricket:
Initially there were only 2 types. But, in the year 2003 England and Wales Board started a new format for professional inter-country competition which was T20. The first world T20 World cup was in the year 2007 which India won. Initially the name was Twenty-Twenty for the game. But, later it was revised and it became T20. It became so popular in India that after winning the T20 world cup when team India came to Mumbai, people welcomed them in a great manner. On that day it felt like the warriors came home after winning the great battle.
The money making machine:
This lead to the formation of one new concept which came as IPL. It was a concept which changed the entire game of cricket. The biggest example of cricket being the money making machine is the IPL. There were 8 teams which were bought in crores of rupees. The players were also bought in crores of rupees. Players were bought according to their performances in the test and the ODIs and the T20 world cup. From then the game of cricket started becoming the money making machine for the boards and the players.
The players were bought in crores. They have to play for their respective team owners. All the players gave their best shot in the IPL. Mukesh Ambani and Vijay Maliya paid about £55m for buying the IPL teams. Shahrukh Khan spends about £40m for buying Kolkata Knight Riders. This trend of buying the teams in millions of rupees gave the concept of money making business in the game of cricket. Not only the buyers of the teams started business from the game but the players also considers the game as the money making machine. Andrew Symonds, Australian player got about £250,000 for playing 4 games for Hyderabad Deccan Chargers. Whereas in the first season of IPL Mahendra Singh Dhoni got the highest package of Rs. 6 Crores and he played well also.
Many players of different countries left the tournaments for playing in the IPL as they get the money easily in the IPL, money making game. The game which they played for their country now they are playing for their respective team owners and the money that they are getting after playing the game. The cricketers get the double amount in IPL compared to the money they get in playing for their country. It is seen that many players get hurt in the T20 game but still they prefers to play the game as they get good money in IPL. And the same player will quit playing for the country. This shows the power of money in the game of the cricket.
Player’s not only quit the play for their country but it seems that they are losing interest in playing for their countries. Take an example of the recent ODI against Australia which was from 25th October to 11th November. Some of the batsmen like Mahendra Singh Dhoni who performed well and made about 285 runs, Sachin Tendulkar who made about 275 runs. While talking of the bowlers Harbhajan Singh, Pravin Kumar and Ashish Nehra made a mark by taking some wickets and scoring the runs even when they were down in the batting line up. Others did not perform well; some of them were not in the form. But, the same reason could not apply in the IPL as it is the Indian Paisa League for them.
They all play for IPL, score the runs and take the wickets also. If we take example of R.P.Singh, he played excellent game in the IPL but when it comes to playing for the country he fails in taking the wickets. Dhoni gave him many chances but he could not make it. He last played ODI against Srilanka. He took only 1 wicket in 5 overs giving away 34 runs. While his careers average is 33.86 from 55 matches and he took about 65 wickets. There are many players who have taken the retirement from the cricket to concentrate just on the IPL. Adam Gilchrist is one of them. They don’t tell it in front of the people, but they believe that their decision of taking the retirement from the game is influenced by the IPL.
BCCI is becoming the money making machine. BCCI finds the money in everything it does. Another example is BCCI invited the tenders for the sponsors of the Team India for Rs.500 crores for 4 year (for 170 matches). In the year 2005 BCCI gave the sponsorship to Sahara for Rs. 400 crores for 4 years. The contract is getting over on 31st December. Before then BCCI has to find new sponsor, but no company is ready for sponsoring Team India logo. BCCI wants 3 crores of rupees for every match i.e., Test match, ODIs or T20. They want 50 crores rupees as the security from the company. This all shows that BCCI only wants the money from the game.
Not only the Indian cricket Board but the cricket Board of the world wants team India to come to their country and play cricket there. The series against India gets the most TRPs and thus the boards of different countries give the TV rights at very high rates to the TV channels. In this way the other boards also earn the maximum amount of profit during the series. This is the only reason why every countries board is inviting the Team India to come to their country and play cricket over there. This is not the end of the whole cycle of making money from the game. BCCI now wants that IPL should be organised twice in one year.
The boards or the players themselves do not think of their fitness but they think of money before playing the game. The money which came in the place of the game has destroyed the value of the game. Many former players and the cricket analyst are saying that because of the money and the power that is there in the T20 game there is the threat of losing the original format of cricket i.e., Test Cricket. Also some players and the public are not interested in test cricket. Many cricketers and former cricketers are coming forward to make a way for saving the game and saving the values of the game.
Conclusion:
It is proved that the cricket that is played today has lost its value and is affected by the money making business from it. Whether the player is fit or not, if he has to make money he has to play the game. The advertisers also take the cricketers who play well in all the formats for its product brand ambassador. The players also work for the advertisements keeping away from playing cricket for the country. There are many players like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Virendra Sehwag who select ad film shooting rather than taking rest or practicing for the series. The players get crores of rupees in the ad films as well, so ad films, T20s are like the money making machines for them but through the game of cricket. Without cricket no one is recognized in the public. But, the reality of today is that the Boards of different countries, players and the franchise owners of IPL all are here to make money from the big machine i.e., CRICKET.

Employee Motivation

Today the recruitment and staffing agencies are facing the biggest challenge of not only keeping the good records in the books of their clients for placing the good people but also to hang on to their best recruiters. This has become their precedence now. Without the clients and their satisfaction the business of staffing and recruitment cannot work effectively.

It is a big challenge for them to recruit the best talent for their clients.  It is really very much for the recruitment and the staffing companies and so sometimes it happens that the clients may not get the preferred result. This can prove a big loss for the recruitment company. There are many other reasons that may also take away the client like career advancement, poor environment, the unmotivated staff, etc.

Now the unmotivated staff is another big problem for the company. The staff can raise your companies’ impression in the same way the unmotivated staff can let down your impression in no time. To deal with this type of problem the company should start thinking for the betterment of their employees. There are certain things that the employer should keep in mind like don’t think that the money will motivate the employees. Money may be a motivational factor but not always can help in motivating the people, because there is something called self Actualization.

After a certain point of time the person urges to attain a degree of importance which is important than money. There are different needs for the different people to get motivated. You can’t always expect that the same thing for two different people will motivate them with the same level. There are different factors which can affect like standard of living, career, personal life, etc. Thus to motivate the employees the leaders must understand the employee first and its needs and his expectation which can help to prove positive in his work which can ultimately prove positive for the company.

Another important thing is that the employer should always try to make a point in front of his employees that the company belongs to the employees also. No one wants to work in the environment where they do not get freedom or where they feel inferior. There is always a desire hidden in some corner of the mind of human beings to work for his own company. It is a human psychology that he works for himself and things related to him. If the employer will succeed in making a point that the company belongs to the employees also, they will get power to work for the company.

They will feel that the company they are working in is not only of his employer but he is also sharing something in growth of his company, which he can call its own. Calling something “MY OWN” make a big difference in the satisfaction level. Participation by the people working in the company can create history for the company which will ultimately be helpful to the employer and the growth of the company.
